Manchester United extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to eight matches following a 2-2 draw against Leicester City on Boxing Day.
After getting knocked out of the Champions League, there was a lot of doom and gloom about Old Trafford.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have hit back, putting themselves into the top-four of the league and advancing to the last-four of the League Cup.
There seems to be competition for places across the squad and now reports suggest that the Red Devils are actively looking to strengthen.
According to The Athletic, United have had discussions with Atletico Madrid full-back Kieran Trippier over a possible transfer in the summer.

Trippier has been a hit in Spain since his move in the summer of 2019.
The 30-year-old, who left Tottenham to moved to Spain in the summer of 2019, has made 52 appearances for the La Liga outfit.
Now it’s claimed that the England international has an eye on returning to the Premier League with the Red Devils thought to be interested.
Axel Tuanzebe has done a good job as a back-up to Aaron Wan-Bissaka but it’s reported that United still want to give their first-choice right-back additional competition.
Trippier, who started his career with Man City, is currently serving a 10-week ban from football for after breaking betting rules.
That is why it’s claimed that a move to Old Trafford in January would be too difficult to do and that it would more likely occur in the summer.
Despite being formerly of rivals City, a player with over 100 Premier League appearances and 25 England caps would be a great addition to Solskjaer’s squad.
