Manchester United travel to Merseyside to face Everton on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils have endured a torrid season so far and currently sit 15th in the Premier League table, having lost 1-0 against fellow strugglers Tottenham Hotspur last time out.

Head coach Ruben Amorim will be desperate to see his side return to winning ways when they face the Toffees, with the Red Devils visiting Goodison Park for the final time in the league.

In the meantime, it appears that the Red Devils are eyeing a move for a Premier League midfielder.

According to CaughtOffside, the Manchester outfit are keeping tabs on Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a whirlwind 2024, joining Palace from boyhood club Blackburn Rovers last January before forcing his way into Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the European Championships.

Wharton remains of interest to Manchester United

The central midfielder has struggled with injuries in recent months, though, undergoing surgery for a groin injury in October last year.

He made his return to action against Manchester United earlier this month, and was handed his first start of 2025 against Doncaster Rovers in the FA Cup days later.

The report claims that United are monitoring the Englishman with a view to potentially formalising their interest and making an offer for the player.

Italian giants Juventus are also considering a move for Wharton, the report claims, with the Serie A giants assessing possible alternatives to Douglas Luiz, who has endured a difficult debut season in Turin so far.

Wharton is under contract with Palace until the end of the 2028/29 campaign having signed a long-term contract with the London side when he joined 12 months ago.

That could put the Eagles in a commanding position during any potential negotiations, although it remains to be seen whether or not the player himself would be interested in a move to Old Trafford.
