Manchester United are reportedly keeping close tabs on Serbia international star Sergej Milinković-Savić, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League side, who went head-to-head with defending champions Chelsea at Old Trafford this afternoon, have been linked with a mega money move for Lazio’s highly rated midfielder this summer.

The 22-year-old, who has two international caps for his country, has scored nine goals and provided six assists in 32 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A side so far this season.

Milinković-Savić, who joined the Italian outfit back in July 2015 following his transfer from Genk, has netted 19 times in 109 games overall for the club.

With Paul Pogba’s future at Manchester United plunged into doubt following his relationship with manager Jose Mourinho becoming increasingly strained, the report claims the Premier League club are monitoring Serbian star Milinković-Savić ahead of the summer transfer window.

Red Devils officials flew out to Italy to scout the central midfielder during Lazio’s UEFA Europa League victory over Steaua Bucharest on Thursday night, but he remained on the bench during his team mates’ 5-1 win.

Manager Mourinho is keen to add a quality midfielder to his ranks at the end of the 2017-18 campaign, with Michael Carrick retiring, plus Marouane Fellaini and Pogba potentially leaving The Theatre of Dreams in the summer.

Milinković-Savić is contracted at Lazio until June 2022, and is valued at £80m.
