Manchester United host Everton in the FA Cup third round on Friday evening, with Toffees boss Frank Lampard under increasing pressure.

The ex-Chelsea midfielder witnessed his side get beaten 4-0 by Brighton and Hove Albion last time out, and there is growing speculation that the former England international could be sacked if things don’t improve.

United, on the other hand, have been in fantastic form since the Premier League returned following the World Cup.

The Red Devils have won all three of their league matches since then, as well as defeating Championship leaders Burnley in the Carabao Cup fourth round.

Despite his side’s good form, it appears that manager Erik ten Hag is looking to bolster his squad this month.

According to Sky Sports Germany, United are interested in Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani.

The 24-year-old was used regularly by France manager Didier Deschamps at the World Cup in Qatar, including when replacing Olivier Giroud in the first half of their final defeat against Argentina.

Kolo Muani featured in three games at the World Cup, scoring once and providing an assist

It is claimed that the Premier League side are ‘highly interested’ in the Frenchman, who has scored eight goals in 23 matches across all competitions so far this term, as well as providing 11 assists.

Kolo Muani is said to have attracted the interest of a number of clubs, meaning that United’s pursuit of him will likely be tricky.

The forward only joined Frankfurt last summer, but it is suggested that the likes of Bayern Munich have already been showing an interest in the player.

When joining the German club from Nantes in July last year, Kolo Muani signed a five-year contract, putting Frankfurt under very little pressure to sell him anytime soon.

Kolo Muani joined Frankfurt on a free transfer last summer following the expiry of his deal with Nantes, but it is claimed that his current employers now value him at around £80-£90 million.

United are in the market for a forward following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in November last year.

Since the Portuguese’s exit, Marcus Rashford has scored in three consecutive Premier League matches, but it appears that Ten Hag is still insistent on adding a forward to his squad.
