Manchester United have reportedly entered the race to sign Switzerland international Breel Embolo this summer, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The 13-time Premier League champions, who currently sit sixth in the standings following Sunday’s 1-0 victory over arch-rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, are interested in recruiting FC Basel’s highly-rated winger.

The 19-year-old, who already has seven senior international caps for his country, has scored eight goals and provided eight assists in 31 appearances in all competitions for the Swiss Super League outfit so far this season.

Embolo, who reportedly has a price tag of around £20m, is also being pursued by the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Bundesliga side Wolfsburg and La Liga giants FC Barcelona this summer.

The forward, who was originally born in Yaounde in Cameroon, is regarded as one of Europe’s hottest prospects since making his professional debut back in March 2014.

United fans can see glimpses of Embolo’s talents if he features for Switzerland in their friendly match against the Republic of Ireland on Friday (19:45pm).
