Manchester United are reportedly interested in sealing a mega money move this summer to land Spain midfielder Saul Niguez, according to the Daily Star.

The 13-time Premier League champions, who finished fifth in the English top-flight, despite eventually winning the 2016 FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium against Crystal Palace earlier this month, have been continually linked with a move for Atletico Madrid’s highly-rated central midfielder.

The 21-year-old, who is in Spain’s provisional squad for this summer’s EURO 2016 campaign in France, scored nine goals and provided four assists in 48 appearances for the La Liga outfit, who lost out to rivals Real Madrid in the 2016 UEFA Champions League final on Saturday night.

Niguez, who recently agreed a new contract worth £80,000-a-week with Atletico, is said to have a whopping release clause of £54m.

The report suggests that the Spanish ace is high on United’s transfer wishlist following the appointment of ex-Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho as their new manager.
