Rio Ferdinand is concerned for Tottenham’s sake ahead of this Sunday’s North London derby.
The former England and Manchester United defender, who is now a BT Sport pundit, was talking after Spurs’ latest Champions League home defeat to Bayer Leverkusen (0-1) on Wednesday night.
Kevin Kampl’s simple finish in the 65th minute condemned Mauricio Pochettino’s men to back-to-back ‘home’ defeats in the European elite competition, where Tottenham are hosting their Champions League fixtures at Wembley Stadium due to their new stadium move.
Speaking in regards to this weekend’s Premier League derby with arch-rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, Ferdinand told BT Sport, “My biggest concern for Spurs really is going into the game at the weekend.
“They have got a huge game at the weekend against Arsenal, the North London derby.”
The 37-year-old added, “Momentum is what you need in big games like that sometimes. But today, it was a very disappointing performance from them.”
