Manchester United are reportedly lining up a £19.5million move for Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes, according to the Sunday Mirror.

Representatives of the 22-year-old are aware of the Red Devils’ interest, and the Portugal international is certainly open to a transfer to Old Trafford this summer, although Serie A leaders Juventus have also lodged their interest in the starlet.

Gomes has a buy-out clause of £19.5million in his contract with the La Liga outfit, who are managed by former United full-back Gary Neville, and it is a fee that the Reds are willing to pay as they look for long-term replacements for Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger, who are both in the twilight of their careers.

The midfielder only joined Valencia permanently last summer from Benfica, and the 6ft 2in youngster has made 25 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring three goals, while he has four caps for his country, and will be hoping to be named in the squad for the upcoming 2016 European Championships.
