Manchester United make initial contact with Mauricio Pochettino following abysmal start to their 2020/21 campaign, according to the Mirror

2020 has been a strange year for most in the UK and across the world and for Manchester United staff and fans it’s been no different.

Back in January, things were looking quite desperate for the Old Trafford outfit, losing at home to Burnley and offering very little going forwards.

Following the signing of Bruno Fernandes and the subsequent national lockdown, United came back to football in June and looked back to their scintillating best. The Red Devils were the most in form team in the league and were looking forward to a positive 2020/21 campaign under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

United boss Solskjaer is under more pressure than ever before.

However, a shocking start to the season which has seen United lose two of their opening three league games, including the 6-1 battering to Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, has put Solskjaer under big pressure.

The Mirror have now reported that the chiefs at United have made initial contact with Pochettino to discuss the possibility of replacing Solskjaer.

It’s a major decision for the board to make, having just invested in the transfer market and at such an early stage of the season, but the club’s expectations far outweigh their current results.
