Arsenal are on the verge of automatic qualification for the last 16 of the Champions League after beating Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb 3-0 on Wednesday.

Goals from Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard gave the Gunners victory at The Emirates, moving Mikel Arteta’s side up to third in the Champions League table.

The Gunners have almost certainly qualified for the last 16 – providing there isn’t an improbably swing in goal difference – and Arteta will be pleased to see his side progress and avoid having to go through a two-legged play-off to reach the last 16.

Away from there action, it appears that the North London outfit have received an approach from a fierce rival for one of their most talented youngsters.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have made contact with Arsenal about the availability of defender Ayden Heaven.

The 18-year-old is one of the most talented played in the Gunners’ Under-21 side, but his impressive displays have attracted interest from several clubs including United, Spanish giants Barcelona and German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt.

Heaven has been the subject of offers from both Manchester United and Barcelona

The report claims that Arsenal have also offered the teenager a new deal, with his current contract set to expire next summer.

Heaven made his senior debut for the Gunners during a 3-0 win over Championship side Preston North End in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup back in October.

While he hasn’t played for the club at senior level since, he has on the bench for three Premier League matches this term, most recently against Fulham in December.

The teenager is primarily a central defender but is also capable of playing at left-back.

As he is in the final months of his current contract, Heaven would be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with any club outside of Europe this month.
