With the January transfer window now in full swing, clubs across the Premier League are working to bolster their squads before the February 3rd deadline.

Tottenham Hotspur and Ipswich Town are among those to have already made their first signings of the window, while several other clubs have been heavily linked with certain players.

As deals continue to be completed and speculation remains rife, it has emerged that Manchester United have made a prolific Serie A striker one of their top targets.

According to GiveMeSport, the Red Devils have identified Napoli forward Victor Osimhen as their primary target for the remainder of the current window.

Osimhen, 26, is currently on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray where he has netted ten times in 12 Super Big matches so far this season.

The Nigerian was heavily linked with a permanent move away from Naples over the summer, with Chelsea among those said to be interested, but nothing materialised and he instead headed on loan to Turkey.

Osimhen is a target for Manchester United

Osimhen continues to face an uncertain future, though, and the report claims that United could cut short his time in Istanbul by activating a £75 million release clause in his Napoli contract.

Despite the forward having a release clause in his current deal, the report does also suggest that the Nigeria international is much more likely to move during the upcoming summer transfer window, with United unlikely to be able to finance the move this month.

Osimhen joined Napoli from French side Lille in 2020 and has since scored 76 goals in 133 games for the club across all competitions, as well as registering 18 assists.

Since moving to Turkey he has scored 13 goals and provided five assists in 18 matches, helping Galatasaray to establish an eight-point lead at the top of the Super Lig table.
