Manchester United are reportedly keeping close tabs on the development of Scotland international star Kieran Tierney, according to the Daily Record.

The Premier League side, who visited Southampton earlier this afternoon in the English top-flight, have been continuously linked with a move for the highly rated Celtic defender during previous transfer windows.

The 20-year-old, who has six international caps for his country, has scored one goal and provided two assists in 14 appearances in all competitions for the defending Scottish Premiership champions this season.

Tierney, who is a lifelong Bhoys fan and joined Celtic at the age of seven, has netted four times in 89 games overall for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

The report suggests United sent officials to scout the full-back during Celtic’s 4-0 victory over Dundee in the Betfred Cup in midweek.

Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is still on the lookout for a new left-back, with Luke Shaw struggling to cement a first-team place at Old Trafford, leading the ‘Special One’ to experiment with the likes of Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian and Ashley Young so far this term.
