Manchester United will look for a third successive win when they host Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils cruised to a comfortable 3-0 home win against the Eagles on Tuesday in the Carabao Cup third round.

Goals from Alejandro Garnacho, Casemiro, and Anthony Martial were enough to send Erik Ten Hag’s side through to the last 16 of the competition.

However, the Manchester outfit will face a very tough test in the next round after being drawn against Newcastle United.

In the Premier League, Manchester United have made a sluggish start to the campaign after earning nine points from six games.

The Red Devils have also had to address some issues off the pitch, including the public fallout between Ten Hag and winger Jadon Sancho, which has created a storm of controversy.

With Sancho likely to look for a move away from the club, another midfielder could also be lined up for an exit in January.

McTominay was the subject of interest over the summer but remains at Old Trafford

According to Sky Sports, Scott McTominay remains high on Fulham’s list of targets and could be an option if Joao Palhinha leaves the club in January.

The report claims that Bayern Munich are expected to make a move for Palhinha at the start of the next transfer window, and Fulham remain interested in McTominay as a potential replacement.

McTominay, 26, is a successful product of Manchester United’s academy and has made 214 senior appearances for the Red Devils.

In those 214 appearances, the defensive midfielder has scored 19 goals and notched up five assists for his side.

Despite his regular appearances for the Manchester outfit and Scotland’s national team, the 26-year-old was linked with an exit from the club over the summer, but a move never materialised.

The Scottish international contract expires in 2025, and it is believed that the Red Devils have slapped a price tag worth around £40m on the midfielder.
