Manchester United have reportedly made an enquiry for Belgium international star Leander Dendoncker, according to Manchester Evening News.

The Premier League side, who completed the signing of Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic for £40m earlier this week, have also been linked with a move for the highly-rated Anderlecht midfielder this summer.

The 22-year-old, who has two international caps for his country, scored six goals in 57 appearances in all competitions for the Jupiler Pro League outfit last season.

Dendoncker, who made his Belgium debut back in June 2015 against France, has netted 10 times in 128 games overall for Anderlecht, having signed for the club at the age of 14.

However, despite The Red Devils’ interest in the defensive midfielder, the report suggests United are not expecting to lure the player to Old Trafford this summer, although they did enquire about his availability earlier this transfer window.

Anderlecht value their prized asset between £22m and £31m.
