Manchester United have reportedly offered Scotland Under-17 international starlet Matthew Knox a third trial at the club, according to the Daily Record.

The Premier League side, who currently sit sixth in the top-flight standings following four consecutive league wins, have invited the Livingston forward back to England to take another look at the youngster.

The 17-year-old, who has featured twice for Scotland’s Under-17 squad, has failed to find the back of the net in five first-team appearances for the Scottish League One outfit so far this season.

Knox, who became the club’s youngest ever player after making his bow against St Mirren on Boxing Day last year, will be analysed by The Red Devils for a third and final time, before United weigh up making a £150,000 bid for the attacking midfielder.

The report adds the Lions youth graduate has also endured stints in English football with Premier League rivals Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton, whilst Scottish Premiership side Rangers have failed with numerous bids for the Scottish starlet during the summer.
