Manchester United will plan a sensational £70m bid for Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford if David De Gea leaves Old Trafford, according to the Mirror.

Although United bosses triggered a one-year extension in De Gea’s contract last week, speculation is still growing that the Spaniard could leave for Paris Saint-Germain.

The Mirror reports the Red Devils would come in for Everton and England No.1 in what would be a world-record fee for a goalkeeper – if they were to lose their current stopper.

David de Gea could be on his way out of Old Trafford.

The £70m fee would surpass the amount Liverpool paid for Brazil’s Alisson from Roma in the summer.

Pickford himself signed for Everton from Sunderland in the summer of 2017 for £30m and has since established himself as the Three Lions’ first choice.

Following the 24-year-old’s exceptional performances at the World Cup, Pickford has continued his superb form for the Toffees this season and has recently been rewarded with a six-year deal, which he signed in September.

De Gea’s Old Trafford future is still unknown, but should he leave reports suggest Pickford could be the Manchester club’s first choice.
