Manchester United will undoubtedly be one of a number of Premier League clubs who will become very active in the transfer market when the window officially opens next month.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side may have finished second in the table last term, but the Red Devils were below par for large parts of the season and ultimately failed to win a trophy yet again after losing the Europa League final after a dramatic penalty shootout.

A number of players have been linked with moves to and from the club, with Jadon Sancho expected to compete a move to Old Trafford when he returns from England duty at the Euros.

Anthony Martial could be on his way out of Manchester, while David de Gea has also been linked to an exit.

One man who, it appears, could be on his way to Old Trafford, however, is Wolves’ Ruben Neves.

The 24-year-old has become a target for United, according to The Express.

Neves, who joined the club in 2017, has reportedly been slapped with a £40 million price tag by his employers.

The report also suggests that Arsenal are keen to kickstart talks to sign the player, with other clubs circling.

Neves has made over 175 appearances for Wolves since joining in 2017.

It is believed that Wolves will listen to offers for Neves, who had been on international duty with Portugal at the Euros until their last 16 elimination.

Arsenal may need to replace Granit Xhaka, who is expected to finalise a move to Italy after the Euros, while Solskjaer is believed to be keen on bringing in a midfielder to add balance to his side.

The report states that United have already begun preliminary talks about the prospect of signing Neves.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are looking likely to splash the cash this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to regain European qualification next season, after failing to do so last term.
