Manchester United are reportedly closing in on the signing of Holland youth international sensation Tahith Chong, according to the Daily Mail.

The 13-time Premier League champions, who climbed up to fifth in the English top-flight standings on Sunday after defeating Everton 1-0 at Old Trafford, are thought to have beaten off fellow rivals Arsenal and Chelsea to the Feyenoord youngster’s signature.

The 16-year-old, who has two internationals caps for the Netherlands’ Under-17 squad, is yet to make his first-team debut for the Eredivisie outfit.

The report suggests that Louis van Gaal’s Red Devils are in advanced talks over a deal for Chong, who is predominantly a left winger.

They also suggest that the Dutchman has been impressed by fellow youngsters Marcus Rashford and Timothy Fosu-Mensah’s progress at United recently, convincing him to seal a switch to Old Trafford.

Chong was originally born in the capital city of Caribbean island nation of Curacao, before moving to the Netherlands and joined Feyenoord’s youth academy set-up when he was just ten.
