Manchester United are reportedly ready to splash out a club-record £95m on Serbia international star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to the Express.
The Premier League side, who face arch rivals Manchester City later this afternoon at Old Trafford (16:30), have been strongly linked with the talented Lazio midfielder ahead of the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old, who has two international caps for his country, has scored five goals and provided two assists in 18 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit so far this season.
Milinkovic-Savic, who joined the Italian side from Belgian outfit Genk back in July 2015 for around £16m, has netted 15 times in 92 games overall for the club.
Having scouted the central midfielder this campaign, the report claims Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho wants the Serbian player at Old Trafford next summer, although the Premier League side would most likely have to pay more than the £89m they spent on club-record signing Paul Pogba from Juventus back in August 2016.
Rivals Manchester City have also registered an interest in Milinkovic-Savic, but it is United who are understood to be in pole position.
