Manchester United are reportedly ready to pay £100 million for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, according to the Daily Mail.

The Red Devils are keen to again establish themselves as one of the biggest clubs in Europe, and are willing to make the France international the first £100m player in the world.

The 23-year-old, who left Old Trafford for free four years ago, is currently appearing for France at the 2016 European Championships, but Reds boss Jose Mourinho is said to be willing to offer a world-record fee, and a £250,000-a-week deal, for the Frenchman.

United, who missed out on qualification for the Champions League this season after a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League under former manager Louis van Gaal, have already signed Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrik Mkhitaryan this summer.

If they did sign Pogba for £100m, it would break the previous world-record for the highest transfer fee paid for a player – £86m for Gareth Bale by Real Madrid in 2013.
