Manchester United could reportedly miss out on signing Scotland international defender Kieran Tierney, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The Premier League side, who currently sit sixth in the English top-flight standings after drawing 1-1 at Stoke City last time out, have been continually linked with a move for Celtic’s highly-rated left-back.

The 19-year-old, who has two senior international caps for his country, has provided 10 assists in 22 appearances in all competitions for the runaway Scottish Premiership leaders so far this season.

Tierney, who made his Scottish bow against Denmark back in March 2016, has caught the eye of Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho following Celtic’s scintillating unbeaten record this term.

However, the report suggests that ex-United boss David Moyes, who is now managing fellow Premier League outfit Sunderland, could make a last ditch move for the full-back on deadline day.

Valued at around £10m, Moyes could attempt to lure Tierney to the Stadium of Light after selling Patrick van Aanholt to Crystal Palace this transfer window.
