Manchester United have reportedly scouted Ivory Coast international defender Serge Aurier ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window, according to Canal (via the Express).

The Premier League side, who currently sit sixth in the English top-flight standings after their opening 11 league games, are understood to have stepped up their pursuit of the Paris Saint-Germain full-back.

The 23-year-old, who has 34 international caps for his country and starred for the Ivory Coast in Tuesday night’s goalless draw against France, has provided three assists in 10 appearances in all competitions for the defending Ligue 1 champions so far this season.

Aurier, who has lifted two French top-flight titles with PSG, was scouted by Red Devil officials during the midweek international friendly.

The report suggests United boss Jose Mourinho is interested in the Brazilian defender, especially considering the ‘Special One’ is ready to allow fellow right-back Matteo Darmian leave The Theatre of Dreams in the new year.

The Sun goes as far to say that Mourinho is hopeful of wrapping up a £18m deal for Aurier.
