Manchester United are understood to be keeping close tabs on Ivory Coast international midfielder Jean Michael Seri, according to the Daily Mail.

The Premier League side, who currently sit second in the top-flight table, but 16 points adrift of leaders and rivals Manchester City, have been heavily linked with making an offer for the OGC Nice star this summer.

The 26-year-old, who has 16 international caps for his country, has scored one goal and provided six assists in 30 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit so far this season.

Seri, who joined Nice from Pacos de Ferreira back in June 2015 for just €1m, has netted 11 goals in 110 games overall for the French outfit.

The report claims United scouts made checks on the central defensive midfielder during Thursday’s 3-2 defeat to Lokomotiv Moscow in the UEFA Europa League ahead of this summer’s transfer window, with manager Jose Mourinho plotting a significant recruitment drive at Old Trafford.

Seri is believed to have a release clause in the region of £33m.
