Manchester United secure first summer signing as they snap up Real Madrid player on a four-year deal, according to AS

It’s often the case that business between United and Real Madrid is the other way round with high-profile signings joining the Galacticos in years gone by, such as David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, AS have reported that United have completed their first summer signing in the way of 17-year-old Alvaro Fernandez Carreras.

The new signing will be hoping to challenge Luke Shaw at full back.

The teenage defender has reportedly signed a four-year deal with the Red Devils having fallen out of contract on the 30th June with the La Liga outfit.

Apparently a host of top European clubs including Manchester City have been after the youngster, but he has chose to join the red side of Manchester.

However, the player is more of a prospect for the future as he didn’t manage to make a senior appearance for Zinedine Zidane’s side after joining from Deportivo La Coruna.
