The FA Cup returns this weekend with Arsenal hosting rivals Manchester United the pick of the third round ties.

Ruben Amorim’s side will travel to The Emirates off the back of a thrilling 2-2 draw against Liverpool in the Premier League last time out, whilst the Gunners suffered a surprise 2-0 defeat against Newcastle United in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on Tuesday.

Off the pitch, the January transfer window is now in full swing and clubs in the top flight are already busy bolstering their squads ahead of the second half of the season.

Now, it appears that one of United’s most high profile players is attracting interest from a Premier League rival.

According to TalkSPORT, West Ham United have emerged as shock contenders to sign unhappy United star Marcus Rashford.

The Englishman’s future at Old Trafford has been thrown into serious doubt in recent weeks after the forward was axed from Ruben Amorim’s first team squad.

Rashford, 27, hasn’t featured in any of United’s last five Premier League matches having admitted recently that he is ‘ready for a new challenge’.

Rashford has emerged as a target for West Ham

The report claims that the Hammers – who appointed Graham Potter as their new head coach on Thursday – would consider a loan move for the player, however they are aware that he is more likely to join a top European side.

Rashford has scored 138 goals and provided 63 assists in 426 matches for the Red Devils across all competitions, having graduated from the club’s youth system.

He has struggled to maintain his best form over the past couple of seasons, though, and now looks almost certain to depart Old Trafford before the end of the current transfer window.

It is claimed that Italian sides Juventus, Napoli and AC Milan have all shown interest in the attacker, while German outfit Borussia Dortmund are also credited with an interest.
