Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag will be busy preparing his squad for the new Premier League season.

The Dutchman guided United to a third-place finish in the league during his first season in charge, as well as winning the Carabao Cup and reaching the final of the FA Cup.

Ten Hag will undoubtedly be hoping to challenge for the Premier League title next season, though, and the recent signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea has bolstered his squad.

Now, though, it appears that one of United’s current players is looking to leave the club this summer.

As per 90min, midfielder Donny van de Beek is exploring the options available to him as he hopes to leave the club.

The Netherlands international joined the Red Devils from Ajax back in 2020 but has struggled since arriving in Manchester.

The 26-year-old made 36 appearances during his first season in England, but has struggled for game time since and now looks likely to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Van de Beek could leave United this summer

In January 2022 the midfielder – who cost United around £35 million when joining from Ajax – was loaned to Everton in an attempt to revive his career.

The Dutchman struggled on Merseyside, though, making just seven appearances for the Toffees during a six-month spell at Goodison Park.

Van de Beek had been tipped to force his way back into the first team at Old Trafford when Ten Hag arrived as the pair had worked together at former club Ajax, but he made just ten appearances across all competitions last term, partly due to injury.

The report claims that Italian clubs Inter Milan, AC Milan and Roma have all shown an interest in signing Van de Beek, who has been told he can leave United during the current transfer window.

The player’s representatives are now working to find him a new club, but it is claimed that he isn’t a first choice target for any of the Serie A sides mentioned.

Premier League clubs Nottingham Forest, Wolves and Crystal Palace are also said to be monitoring the player’s situation.
