Manchester United will be hoping to progress into the semi-finals of the Europa League when they face Sevilla on Thursday.

The Red Devils travel to Andalusia with everything to play for following the two sides’ 2-2 draw at Old Trafford last week.

United found themselves in a comfortable 2-0 lead heading towards the final whistle last week, before two late goals ensured Sevilla drew themselves level.

Erik ten Hag’s side returned to winning ways on Sunday as they cruised to a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest at The City Ground, but it now appears that United may struggle to keep hold of one of their stars.

According to Football Insider, goalkeeper David de Gea has been unimpressed with the offers that the club have made to him so far as they look to extend his contract.

The Spaniard’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season, and United are keen to agree a new contract with their first choice ‘keeper.

De Gea, though, has reportedly been unimpressed with the offers made so far and is yet to agree to extend his stay.

Despite that, the ‘keeper is said to be happy at Old Trafford at present, although time is running out for his employers.

The 32-year-old joined United from Spanish side Atletico Madrid back in 2011 and has now made more than 530 appearances for The Red Devils across all competitions.

De Gea has so far been unimpressed with United’s contract offers

In that time he has kept 186 clean sheets, and he has impressed so far this term having struggled for consistency over the past few seasons.

United have reportedly told De Gea – a 45-time Spain international – that he must take a pay cut if he is to stay put at Old Trafford.

At present, the ‘keeper is said to earn a staggering £375,000-per-week, a figure that makes him the club’s highest earner.

United, though, are intent on lowering their wage bill and have therefore offered De Gea a new deal on reduced terms, and it appears that the player is not impressed.

If De Gea were to depart this summer it would leave United in a tricky situation, with Tom Heaton also expected to leave the club at the end of the campaign.

Dean Henderson, who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, has previously spoken openly of his frustration at the club, and is therefore expected to be sold this summer.

United will therefore be desperate to ensure De Gea remains at the club, but it appears that they may have to improve their offer if they are to persuade the player to sign an extension.
