Juventus’ Mario Mandzukic has been offered a big contract by Al Duhail who are looking to sign the striker ahead of Manchester United, according to reports.

Mandzukic has yet to make a competitive appearance for the Serie A champions since Maurizio Sarri took over in the summer and was left out of their 22-man Champions League squad.

The 33-year-old has been linked with a January move to Old Trafford, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to add some more firepower to his ranks.

However, the Daily Record report that Qatari side Al Duhail are willing to offer the Croatian a mammoth £6.5million salary.

Mandzukic played 89 times for his country, scoring 33 goals.

It’s thought that the ex-Bayern Munich hitman, who has also been linked with Sevilla, will be released from his Juve contract which is not set to expire until 2021.

Mandzukic has had a glittering career, winning league titles in three different countries, the Champions League and helping his country reach the 2018 World Cup final.

He has scored over 200 club career goals and hit the back of the net 33 times in 89 caps for his country.

There’s no doubt United could do with an out-and-out frontman to help out Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood.

But, as this latest report states, the Red Devils might have to go big in order to entice the experienced player to Manchester.
