Arsenal are reportedly close to agreeing a new deal with Germany international star Mesut Ozil, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Premier League side, who currently sit fourth in the English top-flight standings following their most recent 1-1 draw against North London rivals Tottenham, are set to reward the midfielder with a contract worth £200,000-a-week.
The 28-year-old, who has 83 international caps for his country and won the 2014 FIFA World Cup with Germany, has impressively scored seven goals and provided four assists in 14 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners so far this season.
Manchester United were linked with an audacious move for the midfielder only last week.
However the report suggests that the player and his representatives have held advanced talks with the Premier League club during the international break to edge closer towards agreeing a new deal, which will see Ozil become the highest paid star at the Emirates Stadium.
