Manchester United may have to offer a staggering £193.2m if they wish to sign Brazil superstar Neymar this summer, according to Football Insider.
The 13-time Premier League champions, who surprisingly lost 2-1 at Sunderland on Saturday afternoon, were linked with previous summer and January moves for the in-form FC Barcelona forward.
The 24-year-old, who already has 69 international caps for his country, has scored a remarkable 22 goals and assisted a further 20 strikes in 30 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga giants so far this season.
However the report suggests that if Neymar chooses to sign a new contract at the Nou Camp, his new release clause will be raised to a world record fee of £193.2m.
The Brazilian forward revealed that negotiations over a new deal at Barca were still ongoing, which gives Louis van Gaal’s Red Devils that glimmer of hope that they can tempt Neymar to Old Trafford this summer.
