Manchester United will reportedly go head-to-head with Italian giants AC Milan this summer in a bid to sign Sweden superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to L’Equipe (via the Daily Mail).

The 13-time Premier League champions, who currently sit sixth in the standings after their 1-0 shock defeat at West Brom last Sunday, have been linked with a marquee move for the Paris Saint-Germain striker.

The 34-year-old, who has 111 international caps for his country, has scored a sensational 31 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions for Laurent Blanc’s side so far this season.

Ibrahimovic, who scored twice against English top-flight rivals Chelsea in both leg’s of PSG’s Champions League last-16 clashes, will be out of contract at the end of the current 2015-16 campaign.

The report suggests that Louis van Gaal’s Red Devils are interested in bringing the charismatic Swede to the Premier League this summer, although former club AC Milan are also in line to re-sign the ex-FC Barcelona, Ajax, Inter Milan and Juventus hitman.
