Manchester United are reportedly willing to offload forward Anthony Martial in a bid to sign Wales international superstar Gareth Bale, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League side, who defeated Swansea City 2-0 at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon to remain second in the top-flight table, have been linked with a mega money move for the Real Madrid winger this summer.

The 28-year-old, who has 70 international caps for The Dragons, has scored 12 goals and provided seven assists in 29 appearances in all competitions for the defending La Liga champions so far this season.

Gareth Bale celebrates scoring for Wales against China.

Bale, who arrived at the Bernabeu back in September 2013 following his then world record £85m switch from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur, has netted 56 times in 203 games overall for Zinedine Zidane’s side.

United have been continuously linked with a marquee move for the Welshman, and the report now suggests the club are ready to sacrifice fellow forward Martial, 22, who has scored 11 goals in all competitions for The Red Devils this campaign, in order to purchase the Madrid star.

Manchester United’s Anthony Martial walks past manager Jose Mourinho as he is substituted.

Manager Jose Mourinho is understood to have lost patience with French forward Martial, and will look to cash in on the former AS Monaco man this summer, to help fund a bid for ex-Spurs star Bale.

It is thought that Madrid would demand around £80m for Bale’s services at the end of the season.
