Name: David De Gea
Position: Goalkeeper

After almost losing their star shot stopper to Real Madrid last summer, De Gea has produced some world-class displays between United’s goal posts to demonstrate exactly why the La Liga giants were, and still are, after him.

The 25-year-old, who surprisingly only has seven international caps for Spain, has kept an impressive 14 clean sheets in 36 appearance in all competitions for United so far this season, despite being left out of first-team proceedings until after the summer transfer window closed.

Name: Chris Smalling
Position: Defender

Having starred as the Red Devils’ stand-in captain from time to time this term, Smalling has proven his captaincy credentials with some solid, stand out and consistently resolute defensive displays for Louis van Gaal this campaign.

The 26-year-old has become one of the first names on the Dutchman’s teamsheet having led his teammates from the heart of the defence, missing just four fixtures and starring in 42 appearances in all competitions as United go in search of a top four finish.

Name: Anthony Martial
Position: Forward

Following his much debated summer switch to Old Trafford from AS Monaco last summer, a deal which could eventually cost a potential £58m, Martial has hit the ground running as a Manchester United starlet, so far.

The 20-year-old; who already has six international caps for France, has found the back of the net 12 times in 44 games in all competitions this campaign, becoming an imperative member of United’s squad whilst captain Wayne Rooney is sidelined through injury.
