Chelsea are reportedly favourites to sign Brazil international defender Alex Sandro next month, according to The Sun.

The defending Premier League champions, who suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat to West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday, have been continuously linked with a move for the Juventus full-back ahead of the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old, who has 10 international caps for his country, has scored one goal and provided five assists in 16 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A giants this season.

Sandro, who joined Juve on a five-year contract back in August 2015 following his reported €26m switch from FC Porto, has netted six times in 91 games overall for the Italian outfit.

However, the left-back has made it clear he wishes to leave Turin in the New Year, with Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United keen on landing the Samba star.

The report claims Antonio Conte’s Blues are in pole position to lure Sandro to Stamford Bridge, who was strongly linked with a summer move to the London club, but Juventus demanded £80m for his services, though transfermarkt valued him at £31.5m.
