Manchester United are reportedly ready to offload Netherlands international Memphis Depay this summer – less than 12 months after signing the winger, according to The Sun.

The 13-time Premier League champions, who currently sit sixth in the English top-flight standings, despite defeating arch rivals Manchester City 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium last weekend, have been disappointed with the forward’s progress since arriving at Old Trafford back in May 2015.

The 22-year-old, who has 22 international caps for his country, has scored seven goals and provided nine assists in 40 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils so far this season.

Depay, who cost United a reported £25m from Eredivisie outfit PSV Eindhoven last year, faces the axe this summer with uncertainty over manager Louis van Gaal’s future too, with ex-Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho tipped to succeed the Dutchman at the helm.

The report also suggests that defenders Phil Jones and Marcus Rojo face uncertain futures at Old Trafford beyond the current campaign.
