Manchester United fans could be forgiven for having still not gotten over the news of Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to the club.

The 36-year-old will return to the club that propelled him to international stardom over a decade ago.

The Portuguese spent six years at Old Trafford between 2003-2009, scoring 118 goals for the club and winning eight trophies during his time there.

With the news of Ronaldo’s return, speculation grew surrounding the futures of a number of United’s current players.

Young wingers Dan James and Amad Diallo were both heavily tipped to depart the club this summer, but it appears that the latter will now remain.

According to Goal, Diallo’s proposed move to Dutch side Feyenoord has been cancelled after the youngster suffered an injury in training with United.

Amad Diallo had been expected to join Feyenoord on loan, but an injury has caused the deal to break down.

United have since confirmed that Diallo suffered a thigh injury and will be out for more than a month.

The winger had been in talks with the Eredevisie side over a potential season-long loan move.

Diallo, 19, joined the Premier League side from Italian outfit Atalanta in January, and made eight appearances for the club last season.

He will now continue his recovery in Manchester.
