Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag will be keen to add to his squad ahead of next season.

The Dutchman enjoyed huge success during his first season in Manchester, winning the Carabao Cup as well as guiding the Red Devils to a third-placed finish in the Premier League table.

United also reached the final of the FA Cup but were defeated by rivals Manchester City at Wembley.

Now, it appears that United have changed their stance on the futures of one of their biggest stars.

As per 90min, United have withdrawn their latest contract offer for goalkeeper David de Gea.

The Spaniard’s current deal is set to expire this summer and his future remains uncertain.

It is claimed that United had initially made an offer to De Gea which the player signed, but the club have since withdrawn the offer and made a follow-up proposition on reduced wages.

De Gea signed a new contract with United only for the offer to be withdrawn

With the deal set to be signed, United are said to have withdrawn the offer, leaving De Gea’s future extremely uncertain as his current deal is set to expire on Friday.

De Gea, 32, has spent more than a decade with United since joining the club from Atletico Madrid, but his form has been criticised in recent seasons.

In total, the Spain international has made 545 appearances for United across all competitions, keeping 190 clean sheets.

Despite United lowering the offer that they have made for De Gea, the report claims that the player is still considering signing an extension.

If the player refuses to sign an extension, United will reportedly look elsewhere and are considering a number of other options including Inter Milan’s Andre Onana.

Fellow ‘keeper Tom Heaton is set to depart Old Trafford when his contract expires at the end of this month while Dean Henderson, who joined Nottingham Forest on loan last summer, faces an uncertain future.
