England international Luke Shaw is reportedly ready to prove his worth having fallen out of favour under Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, according to the Daily Mail.

The Premier League side, who host West Ham United in the EFL Cup quarter-finals tonight at Old Trafford, haven’t included the left-back in their matchday squad for the past three league outings.

The 21-year-old, who has six international caps for the Three Lions, has provided one assist in 13 appearances in all competitions so far this season for the Red Devils.

However Shaw, who arrived at The Theatre of Dreams back in June 2014 following his reported £27m switch from Premier League rivals Southampton, is ready to fight for his United career and hopes to feature against the Hammers on Wednesday night.

Boss Mourinho has preferred to play fellow full-back Matteo Darmian at left-back, with Daley Blind and winger Ashley Young above Shaw in the pecking order as defensive cover from the bench.

The report adds that Crystal Palace have been linked with a loan move for the ex-Saints star, although the player himself is adamant he wants to remain at United and prove his worth.
