Everton are reportedly interested in launching a loan move for Netherlands international forward Memphis Depay, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The Premier League side, who dropped down to seventh in the top-flight table following Saturday’s 5-0 mauling at Stamford Bridge to the hands of runners-up Chelsea, could snap up the out of favour Manchester United winger during the forthcoming January transfer window.
The 22-year-old, who has 26 international caps for his country and featured for the Netherlands in Wednesday’s 1-1 draw against Belgium, has failed to score or provide an assist in seven appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils so far this season.
Depay, who arrived at Old Trafford from Eredivisie outfit PSV Eindhoven back in June 2015 following his reported £25m transfer, has failed to start for manager Jose Mourinho in the Premier League so far this term, with his playing time mounting to just 20 minutes in the top-flight.
The report suggests Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is ready to make an attempt to try and sign the talented Dutchman on loan, although Serie A side AS Roma are also said to be interested in the forward’s services.
