France international forward Anthony Martial has reportedly emerged as a shock transfer target for Paris Saint-Germain this summer, according to L’Equipe.
The runaway Ligue 1 champions, who finished a whopping 31 points above second-placed Lyon in the French top-flight, are interested in luring the Manchester United star to the Parc des Princes as an ideal replacement for outgoing star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The 20-year-old, who has eight international caps for his country and is set to be included in France’s EURO 2016 squad later this year, has scored 18 goals and provided nine assists in 54 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils in his debut season at Old Trafford.
Martial, who could cost Louis van Gaal’s side up to £58m following his sensational move from AS Monaco last summer, is wanted by PSG boss Laurent Blanc to replace the void left by Ibrahimovic as of next term.
The Sweden international found the back of the net a remarkable 46 times in 49 games this season.
