The £89 million man has struggled to get going in his second spell at Old Trafford, although recent weeks have suggested that he might be beginning to find his feet.

An excellent display against Fenerbahce last month, alongside Michael Carrick, could suggest that he needs someone steady and composed next to him, especially if Mourinho wants to play Wayne Rooney or Juan Mata as a number ten.

Nevertheless, there have certainly been improvements from Pogba in recent weeks, but more of those are needed if United want to challenge for the title.
