Lingard has yet to earn a full international cap for England, despite being called up to the first-team squad last November.

The youth graduate bags February’s Player of the Month gong at Old Trafford after enduring his most fruitful spell of form for Manchester United so far this season.

The 23-year-old, who is an outsider to be named in England’s 2016 UEFA European Championship squad for this summer’s finals in France, scored twice and provided a further assist during last month’s proceedings.

Lingard, who has enjoyed previous loan spells at Leicester City, Birmingham City, Brighton & Hove Albion and Derby County during his Red Devils career, is now highly-rated by United boss Louis van Gaal and is often one of the first names on his weekly starting eleven teamsheet.

Firstly the dynamic winger bagged a goal in United’s comfortable 3-0 rout over Stoke City, before scoring his team’s vital goal at Stamford Bridge which saw the visitors walk away from defending Premier League champions with a point.

Lingard then further showcased his importance to boss Van Gaal by setting up Marcus Rashford’s second strike against Arsenal last weekend in their thrilling 3-2 victory at the Theatre of Dreams.
