The England and Manchester United captain’s rating is unchanged from FIFA 16 to FIFA 17, though he is now knocked down to number five in the club’s highest rated players following the influx of manager Jose Mourinho’s star studded summer signings.

The 30-year-old, who has announced he will retire from international football after the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, remains a vital part of the manager’s plans at the Red Devils this season – despite developing a deep lying midfield role at the club under former boss Louis van Gaal last term.

Rooney, who was awarded a testimonial at Old Trafford back in August having arrived from Everton back in 2004, has already scored one goal and provided two assists in his side’s opening three league outings.
