Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata has revealed that his star teammate David de Gea is calm and focused despite swirling rumours that he is once again a priority for Real Madrid.
Two years ago the Spanish ‘keeper looked a dead-cert to move back to the capital in his hometown country, however, stayed put in Manchester.
With last season’s Champions League winner having their transfer embargo reduced, they have once again been linked with the shot-stopper, who has arguably been the Red Devils best player over the last few years.
However, speaking on the reports that the Spain international could be heading off, his compatriot and teammate, former Chelsea man Juan Mata, has claimed there has been no effect.
Speaking to Cadena Ser, the midfielder said:
“Have (those rumours) come out again?
“The truth is that I did not even know that there were rumours again. Once the summer (of 2015) passed, which is true it was hectic.”
When pressed on whether or not the ‘keeper would move, Mata added: “I do not know, but we have not talked about it. I didn’t even know that there were new rumours about that ahead of the coming summer. He is calm, and with many fronts still open this season, without thinking about the summer.”
