Matteo Guendouzi will have to get boss Mikel Arteta back on his side if he is to continue at Arsenal, according to reports.

The Frenchman was left out of the squad for the Gunners’ 4-0 victory over Newcastle United on Sunday.

And the Mirror report that the 20-year-old was dropped because Arteta was unhappy with his attitude during their mid-season trip to Dubai.

It’s claimed that the Spaniard took that action against Guendouzi because he has been adamant that he picks his team based on performance levels in training.

The midfielder has been a regular since signing from Lorient in the summer of 2018, making 77 appearances.

However, being left out of the matchday squad is a clear indication that he will need to buy into Arteta’s methods or face leaving the club.

Having racked up decent experience at such a young age, Guendouzi would command a decent fee which the Spanish boss could then use to continue his rebuild at the Emirates.

Arsenal are currently 10th in the Premier League, seven points adrift of fourth placed Chelsea having played a game more.
