Spain international midfielder Ander Herrera is reportedly willing to leave Manchester United in the New Year, according to the Metro.
The Premier League side, who defeated Burnley 2-0 at Turf Moor on Sunday in the English top-flight, have been linked with losing the player during the forthcoming January transfer window.
The 29-year-old, who has two international caps for his country, has made two appearances for The Red Devils so far this season, including a start against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League at centre-half.
Herrera, who arrived at Old Trafford back in June 2014 following his move from Athletic Bilbao, has scored 17 goals in 162 appearances in all competitions for the club overall.
However, the report suggests the central midfielder is disappointed with United delaying negotiations over a new deal for the Spaniard, meaning he is open to offers from other clubs ahead of the January transfer window.
Herrera is contracted at Old Trafford until June 2019, and is valued at £27m.
Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho is keen to keep hold of the player, yet the club have not offered him a contract extension, plunging his future into doubt at The Theatre of Dreams.
The player’s camp believe United are taking Herrera’s loyalty for granted as they run down his deal.
