Ruben Amorim will hope to pick up his first Premier League victory as Manchester United head coach when they face Everton on Sunday.

After drawing 1-1 against Ipswich Town in his first match in charge, Amorim over saw a 3-2 win against Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League in midweek.

The Red Devils had to come from behind to defeat their opponents, which could give them further confidence ahead of Sunday’s visit of the Toffees to Old Trafford.

Ahead of the game, it has emerged that a United midfielder is likely to leave the club when his contract expires next year.

As per Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany, veteran midfielder Christian Eriksen is set to leave Manchester United at some point next year.

Eriksen is set to depart Man United next year

The Dane’s contract with United is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, and Plettenberg claims that he is set to depart Old Trafford upon the expiry of his deal at the latest.

Eriksen, 32, joined United in 2022 after a brief spell with Premier League rivals Brentford and has since played 86 times for the Manchester club across all competitions.

He has started the new season in fairly impressive form, scoring twice in both the Carabao Cup and Europa League.

The Denmark international has also been involved in nine of United’s last ten Premier League matches including the draw against Ipswich in Amorim’s first match.

Plettenberg also claims that United are on the hunt for new midfielders, with those in charge of their recruitment said to be targeting both a defensive midfielder and a more attacking number 10.
