Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has given Morgan Schneiderlin the green light to leave Old Trafford in January, according to reports from The Mirror.

The France international, who arrived in Manchester from Southampton for around £25m in 2015, under the guise of Mourinho’s predessecor Louis Van Gaal, has fallen out of favour under the Portuguese.

The midfielder, who excelled during his time on the south coast, has not made a single start for the Red Devils in the Premier League this term and has subsequently asked the former Chelsea boss for permission to leave.

The 27-year-old, who has 127 Premier League appearances under his belt, is the subject of an offer from Tony Pulis and West Brom, whilst his former manager Ronald Koeman has also been linked with a move.

Jose Mourinho is looking to continue his overhaul of the Man United squad in the January window, with Dutch winger Mephis Depay – another LVG signing – being linked with a move away.
