Man United manager, Jose Mourinho, has called on summer signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan to put in the performances he knows he is capable of after returning to full fitness after a struggle win injuries earlier this season.

The former Borussia Dortmund star has not featured for Mourinho’s side since the 2-1 defeat to rivals Man City, having been sidelined through injury.

However, the £35m summer signing, who is yet to pick up a goal or assist with his new club, could be back in action on Thursday night when the Red Devils face Fenerbahce in the Europa League.

Speaking ahead of the game, manager Mourinho has applied the pressure on his playmaker:

“He was injured and he was injured for quite a long time,” said the former Chelsea boss.

“Now he is not injured anymore, he’s training with the team without any limitations.

“I cannot confirm that he will play, but now he is fit and it is now time for him to go back to the levels that we know he can achieve.”

The Portuguese is yet to find his best XI and therefore the Armenia international still has time to prove his worth to his boss.
