Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is considering a move for Bayer Leverkusen defender, Aleksander Dragovic, according to reports from The Mirror.

The former Chelsea manager has reportedly made it clear to club chiefs that he wants to seriously invest in his defence in January.

The Red Devils boss has publicly criticised defenders such as Luke Shaw and Chris Smalling already this season, over issues of performance, fitness and even their pain barriers.

Whilst the Portuguese has been entirely happy with his side this season, one man who has impressed at the back is Eric Bailly. The summer signing, however, will leave Old Trafford in the New Year in order to play at the African Cup of Nations, meaning reliable cover is needed.

The Austria international, who has been in-and-out of the Leverkusen squad so far this season, is accustom to challenging for silverware, having won two Ukrainian titles and three Swiss league titles with Dynamo Kiev and Basel respectively.
